"The problems the president had tonight can potentially be fixed," says Chris Christie, who is part of the Trump debate prep team, on ABC.
A resounding vote of confidence there from Christie.
Maybe substitute Trump's Adderall stash with ketamine?

Trump debate prep adviser Chris Christie on ABC about Trumps performance: that was too hot. with all that heat, you lose the light. that potentially can be fixed. Maybe, maybe not.

(5,810 posts)tape of the debate like a football coach would show his team after a game. tRumps problems go all the way to his core. He is rotten and cannot be fixed. He is unable to control himself and act like a civilized human being because he is not. He has to be the overlord in every situation so will never want to look what he considers weak. (Calm and rational.) The biggest problem is he will not listen to anyone because he believes deep inside that he knows everything and is the smartest man in the room. And that is why he wont change because he simply cannot change to save his life. To save the presidency. He might as well get fitted for his orange jumpsuit because he is toast. He is finished. Stick a fork in him. He is done.

(7,229 posts)Many of us thought at the time of the 2016 debates that he came across as a Gish galloper of lies, unhinged and overbearing, to put it mildly.
Tonight that came across in vivid spades. That's after four years, and he's gone backwards, not improved.
And it doesn't seem to have played out well for him:

Words undecided voters in @FrankLuntz's focus group had for Trump: "arrogant," "crackhead" and "un-American"
Biden: "better than expected," "more professional," "restraint and compassion," "Predictable" "coherent" "leader"
If this polling's to be believed, it didn't even play out well with his base:

What a mess. There was no winner, certainly not the United States. And that makes Biden the winner. He's the frontrunner. It's Trump who needed the win, and I think most anyone would agree, as Chris Wallace said, that the president was largely responsible for the debate.

Agree that it was awful, but Trump did badly with his base. 15% of his supporters thought it was a tie, compared to only 4% of Biden supporters. Only 49% of Trump supporters thought it made them think better of Trump
Well said. It is what it is.

(15,276 posts)This is what Mary Trump said as well, when asked by Stephen Colbert if her uncle's issues could be fixed. She said Trump's pathologies are so many and so ingrained, there's really nothing to be done to help him now.
