I assume the last one doesn't mean 57% aren't going to vote for either, but that 57% did not have their minds changed about which candidate they were going to vote for based on the debate. Which means Biden did well with 32% compared to Trump's 11% there.

(14,565 posts)Big help to Biden to win this debate since so many mail and early votes will be cast before the second debate
This 60/28 will be heard all over the place
Slight Democratic tilt to the sample but who cares?
32% said more likely to vote for Biden, only 11% for Trump

(5,810 posts)And it wasnt Bidens fault. My loathing of tRump increased 100 fold and I already despised him with the heat of a thousand suns.
Seeing this poll definitely made me feel better. I hope it ruined that bastards night although hell just say it is fake news. Tough sh*t, asshat. Read em and weep. If election night is like that, maybe we WILL know by 11 p.m. who won. No need to wait for the absentees to be counted To know for sure. How do you spell l-a-n-d-s-l-i-d-e???

(21,945 posts)See what I wrote at the bottom of the OP.
My interpretation is that its not that 57% were more likely to vote for neither; rather, 57% were not more likely to vote for either. As in, the debate didnt move them from the position they already held.

(11,589 posts)I just think it means that 57% didn't have their minds changed watching the debate. I think most people have made up their minds already. Even with that Biden got a bigger boost from this.

(64,995 posts)Actually I'm surprised that 43% of people were in a position to have their minds changed.
I also wonder if that whole question was asked of undecided voters. In which case it's 57% of 8%.
Confusing poll question.

(9,760 posts)Who seemed like the stronger leader? at B:55% T:43%. No other area had them so close.
It's very sad to see so many people mistaking assholery for strength, especially for strength in leadership.

(5,377 posts)spent a lot of the debate time desperately struggling to find something that he could present as a real achievement, and not succeeding.
Sad indictment of wasted years really.
The personal attacks from Trump were expected, but Biden's response along the lines of . . . don't go there, because I could out do you there without trying - was a good way to cut that short.
As usual, Trump threw around numbers and 'facts' that were inaccurate, false, or debunked ages ago. Nothing new to shine his tarnished crown.
Biden kept his cool, and showed he isn't past it, as suggested by some.

(6,818 posts)He did this like he does EVERYTHING in his whole life. He picked to death the well meaning words and sentiments of others, eschewing all. Chose the path that best suited his mood, plagiarizing as required. Ingested mind and body altering drugs thus expanding his "comfort zone". Plowed forth, conquering and smiting, obsessing and controlling the villains of his imagination and the objects of his lust. Then later in a quiet moment, erasing the entire experience from recollection. His life's like that.
There's nothing and never has been anything remarkable about Donald except, perhaps, that he sustains his facade, his charade, so steadfastly. But that may be the only thing he has that he owns free of debt. Be interesting to see how well it holds up when released into general population.

(9,321 posts)Said that in 2016, Trump was aggressive, but he was also making reasonable points and being funny. This debate he was just spouting dumb Libertarian talking points and being mean instead of funny. It was like your belligerent drunk uncle at Thanksgiving. I would pretty much agree with that.
