are hired because they got in the back door because of their famous family name. They never measure up to expectations. Wallace didn’t have what it takes to make it as a broadcast network anchor, so he’s ended up at the next best thing, a character assassination job on GOP TV.

It actually shows how much trouble all of America's institutions, including the free press, have adjusting in real time to Trump's extreme ongoing assault on the fabric of our nation. By the time anyone finds a way to compensate for and mitigate against Trump's last dramatic deviation from norms, he has already smashed three more.

The Commission organizing these debates got rolled by Trump. The format for these debate, with no opening nor closing statements and with over two thirds of the time set aside for "Free discussion" were a set up for Trump to run rough shod over everything.

I fully agree with your comparison, and yet I can not remember another time in memory where a debate moderator so repeatedly and pointedly called out one of the debaters for violating the format, or when a moderator dueled to be heard over a participant for minimally half minute stretches. But the vestiges of durum that Wallace was not yet ready to shed worked to his disadvantage against an unhinged Trump.

Fox "News" is not a legitimate news organization and its employees are not journalists.

Fox "News" should not be treated as a legitimate news organization and it should have nothing to do with presidential debates.

Anyone expecting trump to follow "Robert's Rules of Order" ain't been watching the last 4 years.
