My hot take on the debate (if anyone cares)

Ok...my hot take if anyone cares. I don't know anyone who originally thought Joe Biden was the ideal candidate to beat Trump. I certainly didn't .There probably are some (on DU)but I didn't personally know any. Well, after last night's debate I am ready to say that I was wrong. Biden's tragic life experiences, his time as a single parent, his willingness to serve quietly as second banana for 8 years to a man he obviously loves and admires, his (mostly)calm and patient demeanor are EXACTLY the thing that Trump can't now, and NEVER will understand. It is completely befuddling to him that a man who isn't rich, or a name-calling bully can earn the admiration of others. Trump can't understand the concept of quiet strength, the strength that profound tragedy, of having to work hard to get what you have, gives a man like Joe Biden...but WE do.

and that is Joe Biden. I thought and still think people just want normalcy and a "boring" candidate is it.

I was pretty geeked about Kamala running, so I'm one happy Democrat.

first he was supporting/wanting someone more progressive, he was wrong as he tjought Biden is what we, as a country in pain, need - because of his empathy coming from knowing pain.

Not his exact words, but as close as my meager brain can recall.

But, Joe is a natural healer, he is a middle road democrat. He may be able to clam the storm that Trump has created. I do not see Joe as a man to lead us into a new century, but I do see him as a man who will work to get the government back on track, a man who will work to pass legislation to make norm's laws.
