General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsMSNBC is incredibly disappointing
especially with the start of Chuck Toad's show.
Its quickly becoming a "both sides were awful" talking points discussion.
That is complete BS. ITS WAS NOT "BOTH SIDES"
GD has the media not learned ANYTHING from 2016???
The only problem on that stage was trump.
All this means is we've got to work even harder to prevent the media from screwing it up and call them out every single time they play that "both sides are the same" middle of the road nonsense.

(65,179 posts)Last night I was watching, and they were saying the right things. At least Maddow, Williams and Wallace were. Who else is doing the both sides nonsense?
Until Chuck Todd, I thought everyone was pretty much on the same page about the debate. I listened to him for a bit, then turned it off. I think Andrea Mitchell said something a bit unnerving as well, but can't remember what it was now. I'm on overload.

(6,931 posts)in all the media this morning. It's beyond disappointing. But last night, initial reactions on CNN and MSNBC were such that I've never seen so many "savvy" newspeople so utterly shaken by what they saw. I hope THAT'S what viewers remember.

(4,667 posts)Dont watch or post about his show. Less attention. Less ratings. That takes him off the air.

His bothsiderism would be insufferable, but much less damaging to our country.
"Gertrude Alflin, 86, passed away peacefully in her sleep. Some say she was a woman of tremendous faith, attending church every morning. Others say that she was really a cruel woman who hated her family. Reports are that she became more of a homebody when the love of her life, Bernard, passed away several years ago, although some have questioned her whereabouts at the time of his death. In lieu of flowers, the family have asked that you play a Bingo Card in her honor at the Tuesday Afternoon VFW Post Bingo Game, but some people say that this only supports gambling.
She'll be laid to rest at Shady Grove Cemetery and Drive-Thru on Monday, although some have said it will be Wednesday."

(8,059 posts)that. Fox needs to be taken out of the equation of legitimate media channels BY THE OTHER CHANNELS. If they give a shit about America at all, they need to start telling viewers that fox is tabloid propaganda and only stupid people listen to it.

(8,067 posts)I take issue with your premise. I think almost everyone on DU can agree that Chuck Todd is horrible. That's why he was demoted to an earlier hour and Nicole Wallace now has two hours.
Speaking of Nicole, she's great, Joy's great, Lawrence is great, and Rachel Maddow so exceeds greatness that any adjective/word to describe her doesn't exist. I think a whole new term needs to be created just for Rachel.
I don't want to be rude, but other than Chuck Todd and Andrea Mitchell (who I really don't care for) it pisses me off that you make a ridiculous assertion that MSNBC is claiming both sides are the same........

(8,732 posts)and early afternoon slots were very soft on how they couched everything
It was ambitious, filled with generalities about the debate.
Its very subtle, "most believe the debate was horrible and a disgrace" but never distinguish the issues of the debate anymore than that. Meaning they never clarify that it was trump that made it a dumpster fire, not Biden.
They play the video of the undecided voters and focus on the Biden comments while soft-peddling the trump comments.
With few exceptions, Joy Reid's show is the first time all day that a reporter has made it clear, throughout their entire show, that the debate debacle was 100% trump's fault.

In that, they are like the Dotard. And they want 4 more years of him because covering his outrageous acts gets them ratings.
