Idea for debates going forward.

Moderator in one room. Trump in one (rubber) room. Biden in one room. Virtual debate online with moderator muting the microphone and turning off the camera of the one not recognized to talk at the moment. No audience.

You can turn off a channel on any audio console, especially the deluxe ones used in television production.

It would be better, though, to tell Mr. Trump that if he acts like a child, the debate ends and Biden will be allowed to address the nation by himself for the time remaining.

Standing alone, for any human being in the world, that would be sufficient. Except for one person, namely Donald Trump.

Mic cuts work, but Trump would still be screaming and shouting in the debate hall, sufficient to distract the moderator, Joe, and the audience, although the TV/online audience might not hear it.

Maybe they should keep them in separate soundproof rooms.

Of course, this is only for Donald Trump. When he loses, we can go back to "normal", whatever that is.
