Donald Trump's Proud Boys debate comments stir up Kalamazoo residents

Many Kalamazoo area residents are expressing concern over President Donald Trump’s refusal to condemn white supremacy.

Asked directly during Tuesday night's debate against Joe Biden to condemn white supremacy, Trump said to the Proud Boys "stand back and stand by."

Voters in Kalamazoo were shocked and appalled by the president's comments to boost up the Proud Boys, a far-right extremist group whose presence caused chaos and violence downtown on Aug. 15, 2020.

Kalamazoo officials have blamed counterprotesters for inciting violence.

1. With comments like these from Trump...I am very curious where minorities stand...

...relative to Trump today. As a white male of an older generation I am sure I do not understand all the subtleties of being a minority today. I think I would be appalled about anything that seemed to support groups like the Proud Boys but yet that seems far from 100% of the reaction from people of color.
