5. i wouldn't count on him backing out, although his staff would probably appreciate it

i bet the people who had to cook something up to show him that he won were hoping for it but they'll all be like come the 15th

90 minutes of free primetime TV coverage? even Trump knows how valuable that is.

7. If he can get his mic cut though, it'll be far less time.

I don't think he would do it with the changes, cause he wouldn't be able to bully his way through it

14. he'll shout and bellow as loud as he can when his mic goes dark

let's hope the mixer for ambient noise reduction is up to the task

if he finds out that he really can't get his ranting heard, he'll try for some background stalking and lurking, just to have his presence publicized

strategically speaking, it would probably be better for Trump's campaign if he didn't do the debates, but camera time is like his heroin.
if he doesn't show up, i'll be very surprised, as it would show unprecedented preemptive action by his team, like maybe someone locked him in the bunker or stranded him on the back 9.

3. Well, for one thing, if you don't interrupt during Biden's two minutes, then

4. How is it "changing the rules" by actually ENFORCING THEM?!?!?

You agreed to 2 minute answers - UNINTERRUPTED. That means SHUT THE FUCK UP DONNIE! (or your mic is simply cut off until the RULES say you can speak again)...

This fuckstick needs to be gone forever.

6. They should still hold the debates....

If the turd doesn't show up, Biden gets 90 minutes of "townhall" style q/a.

Then another for the third "townhall".

The turd would be busily scheduling "rallies" opposite the debates, which the media could ignore.

Perfect!!!

At the town hall debate, is he going to scream at the questioners?

I also agree that Joe should show up at the appointed time and place regardless of what Mr. Trump does. The voters (and the moderators) can ask him all the questions. I suspect it might be more substantive.

10. The funny this is that even all the Repubes I know have said they wish they would cut the mics.

Sure, they all said it was "both sides" who were doing it but they also said they wished they could cut them off so there woudln't be all the interrupting.

Fine...I'll go along with the "Both sides" thing then....knowing it really only affects their guy.

12. I think he wants to avoid questions from voters in a Town Hall type format.

I am sure that he have to confront voters who aren't willing to pull their punches on things like his taxes, Russian money, his handling of the Covid-19 pandemic and resultant destruction of the US economy.

Conversely, I doubt any rabid winger will be able to dent Biden's ability to answer their questions.
