To those hoping Trump has actually contracted COVID.....

If he recovers, it’ll give a boost to his argument that it’s not a “big thing”.....

And if he DOESN’T recover, there would be a sympathy backlash for Pence.

I am more concerned that those idiots may have infected Democrats that had to be close to them.

He could die and his base suddenly take it seriously this saving a hundred thousand lives.

It would be the first time he’s ever helped someone other than himself.

If he's out of commission NOW?

Nobody would vote for Pence. The repubs will get Slaughtered, and most of their voters would stay home on 11/3.

Trump is a prime target for COVID19, he would likely have a big struggle.

I believe that if he or Pence or both get sick, that loses the election for them, people will just look at the situation as a continuation of the decline the country has been on with them in office.

If Pence survives, there won’t be a sympathy vote, the majority of Americans would most likely want to move away from the thoughtlessness that him and Trump embodied.

trump has a rabid base. But they don't have that kind of devotion to pence. And trump's spotlight has been so large that I don't think most middle-of-the-road voters feel as familiar with pence as, say they did with Biden in 2012 or Cheney in 2004 or Gore in '96.

That said, though, I think the desperate and angry faction of trump's base might be more motivated to violence in the case of a serious trump illness, and the potential for conspiracy theory contagion on the fringe would be extremely high.

Anyway, If he DOESN'T recover he won't be able to endanger our national security by selling classified information to settle his foreign debts.

meaning it's most likely he would die. Herman Cain was younger than him and passed.

Sympathy vote for Pence? Nah. Magats will vote for him but the needle wouldn't move for him as he and Mother are not the most sympathetic figures I can think of.

...but, if he does and survives, it will look really bad that he tried to downplay it for so long. One could well argue that no one in his entourage would have gotten it if they'd used the precautions scientists were urging on everyone, and that his administration tried their hardest to downplay.
