(5,060 posts)he's obese, 74 years old, probably has other comorbidities they never revealed. i expected it.
he also got the latest most promising treatment out there. i'm not even sure it's approved yet, but even if it is, i know goddam well if i get covid i won't be afforded that treatment.
my bp is going up. he should get a terrible case and not just because millions of people think so.

(5,060 posts)You are right about his age and it could very well be precautionary as they claimed. But I think it's more serious than they let on.
Maybe his cult followers can finally see how dangerous COVID truly is and the preventive steps we pushed aren't just lies or to take away their freedom. We need everyone to follow the same guideline to get out of this pandemic. It doesn't matter if I adhere to them when they go spread COVID left and right out there. I want the economy to go back but we can't do that until the whole country take it seriously.

(2,195 posts)Conservatives and independents might not vote for Biden if the crazy guy isn't there anymore.

(12,011 posts)Putting aside any talk about human decency, anyone who wants Biden to win should want Trump to stay alive until the election. Pence is more dangerous, because his views are just as crazy but he doesn't come across as crazy the way Trump does to the average swing voter.

Theyll play it down as being purely cautionary, but, no.

(35,135 posts)absolutely necessary and a true emergency. It's not necessary in many cases and can do more harm than good. There's no way to get the vent tubes 100% sterile (that's his opinion, not sure if it's true or not).

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
