Who's seen the movie "Dave" with Kevin Kline as the POTUS who faked his own death?
I feel like we're about to see a variation of that. * knows he's going to lose the election. If he does, he'll go to prison (and possibly get a polonium cocktail). Faking his own death might be his only chance to get while the gettin's good.
OK, yes I'm being a bit hyperbolic. But I wouldn't put anything past this guy.

6. I think he had a stroke with his mistress, who was his assistant.
And was in a coma, why is why they brought in a lookalike (Kline).

3. The President in "Dave" didn't fake his own death.
He suffered a real stroke, and his power-mad cronies hired a look-alike to impersonate the President until one of them could maneuver his way into the Vice Presidency, and then reveal the real President's "death", thereby making himself President.

4. I think the potus had a stroke while boinking his mistress and the staff found a lookalike...
Who ended up being a decent potus and falling in love with the first lady, iirc. Then the lookalike fakes his death in public and they pull the plug on the real potus.

5. The real prez had a stroke and was secretly in a coma. When he died, "Dave" faked a public death.

9. Dave was a kind-hearted look-alike,
smuggled into the White House when the jerky POTUS dies.

10. Spending to "feel better"
I was just thinking of this movie .. in particular the scene where "Dave" questions whether or not spending to convince people they've spent wisely on a car they've already bought ... and thinking it looked a lot like the $300 million CDC campaign to make people feel better about the virus.

14. Forget the movie reference
And put aside the first response.
And, yes, tinfoil hat alert. Do we put it past him to do that? Or to “fake” a stroke and resign. But the “stroke” puts him in the Vincent gigante category. Too debilitated to be prosecuted. |
