HOLY COW - From a Sr WH Official:

“There are reports that COVID is spreading like wildfire through the WH. There are 100s & 100s of people who work on-complex, some who have families with high-risk family members... not one email has gone out to tell employees what to do or what’s going on.”

The senior official told Intelligencer that not only is there no reliable information flow internally regarding the president’s condition, but there’s also no reliable information about anything else. Even his most senior staffers find themselves in the same predicament as those on the outside looking in. An opaque system designed to protect the White House from negative press is backfiring. “I think most of it is paranoia about leaks,” the official said, “Yet … the leaks continue.”

We probably know more about not only COVID-19 but what's going on the WH than the people who work there.

Some WH employees believed that they didn't have to wear masks because they were getting frequent tests. But the tests didn't protect them from getting the virus. Isn't it better to do all possible not to get the virus in the first place? The staffers felt compelled to go mask-less because of Trump's attitude about them. I wonder if Trump has had one moment of remorse since he's been hospitalized. Silly me.

Until we get a name, until someone goes on the record, "senior White House official" and "anonymous sources close to the president" mean nothing. It's no different from Trump saying "many people have told me" or "everyone agrees with (insert bullshit here)".

When a "senior White House official" puts his or her name to it, it will have some credibility. Otherwise, it's just garbage.

Why didn't they wear masks? Is it because tRump did not specifically mandate it? Is it necessary to have the stable genius command that something be done before anyone will do what's in their own best interest? What is going on there?

They should be aware that tRump has only his own best interest in mind. Ever. He'll never issue a mandate for the benefit of the people unless he believes it will benefit him more.

You'll notice that Pence hasn't been put in charge nor did he catch the virus, so he's presumably not so cozy with Trump as we've been led to believe.
