I think what they were going for was more controversial than straight hair
The words in the background behind her and the dancers said Protect Black Women. Juxtaposition that speech with Tamika Mallory saying Daniel Cameron is a sellout.
A shot at him for not protecting Breonna Taylor.

...I'm an old psychedelic/punk/rocker but I loved her performance.
Plus, the animated background graphics are pretty trippy, which is cool.
