CBS national poll on repub presidential candidates: Romney, Gingrich, Santorum within 5 points.

Mitt is staying in the 15-20% range he has not been able to break out of. Newt is still a strong second which surprised me. Rick is now in third place within 5 points of Romney nationwide.

An interesting snapshot of the race but the big Romney campaign and super PAC money has yet to be hurled at the others. The republican 1% obviously are behind Mitt and are happy that the plethora of other candidates are splitting up the anti-Romney vote. He's polling about 15-20% that he did in 2008, but it looks better this time around since his opposition is fractured and it puts him in first place.

4 months after listening and watching this cast of losers, 1/3 of the voters are still firmly committed to "Don't know/Someone else". If we're lucky, "Don't know/Someone else" will remain solid, and we'll have 4 candidates equally splitting 15.5% of the delegates going into the convention.

totals 32%, much greater than any one of the top three, it is positively delicious.

Someone Else alone ties with the #1 candidate and beats the other two.
