Really CBS?

I was listening to the local CBS news on my way home from work and at the beginning of the hour they had the national news. The lead off story was "the presidential election is only a few weeks away and polls show the race is tightening". After which they talked about Obama being up by 10 in Ohio, 9 in Florida, and 14 in Pennsylvania. Did the guy just misspeak? How is the race getting tighter? What polls are they looking at?

also, it could backfire on them. It could bring more Dems out to vote.

And we need election reform and media reform before this country can be called a civilized nation.

And toothpaste.

they can take the tiniest scrap of info and turn it into an anti Obama thing, somehow. They are infuriating!

Probably one of my favorite Simpsons episodes and that's saying something considering most newer episodes are kinda meh.

...to make money off it. An election is a major event. They must bill it as sensational, close, horse-race. Otherwise people figure it's pretty settled who will (may) win and won't watch. And they lose advertising dollars. It's all about the corprat bottom line.

That said, I urge everyone NOT to take anything for granted in this election. We still have to GOTV as if it were Obama who is 10 pts behind in polls. NO complacency!

if not it was probably the usual pre-election nonsense. Sometimes I get the sense that the MSM wants the election to be like the SuperBowl -- they just want a close game and/or will claim it is a great match up even if it isn't.
