...there are numerous case studies, as well as physicians talking today about the 'when and why' about the drugs he's being given.

Apparently he's been given unusually high doses of steroids, and even the experimental cocktail (also known effects) was given at a higher dose. Both drug treatments were not recognized as effective for low rates of infection.

The drug cocktail was said to work better at the lower dose, but Trump got the maximum. The steroid treatment is also indicated to be more effective for sicker patients, and less to counterproductive for mild cases.

they gave him the maximum studied dose, which has been shown to be really no more effective than lower doses. Some folks may yell at me again for surmising, but that looks like desperation to me.

then you need more, that higher doses later may be ineffective, not recommended or even dangerous.

Of course, his drug tolerance may be quite high with his drug history... but that may have no bearing on these covid drug therapies.

I imagine him like a drunk at a bar being rude and offensive, demanding more to drink. The good stuff! He knows his limit and how dare you cut him off! Except this is not alcohol.

He would want the newest, the best, the highest dose! Only top shelf drugs -- in gold if possible. And the carefully selected doctors, staff and WH employees will not be able to resist him and eventually acquiesce to his demands.

And this is just for mild symptoms.

I forget the name but it looks like they are trying to head off the storm from the immune system that overwhelms the lungs. The two low oxygen bouts are a clear warning on what could happen. These drugs also have side effects that bear watching, especially since he was given maximum doses on a couple of them. So now we wait.

With Covid-19, you have both an infection that you need your immune system at full power to suppress, but in more severe cases, your immune system overreacts, causing a "cytokine storm" that could kill you before the virus would.

Corticosteroids are a double-edged sword. You only give it when the inflammation is more life threatening than the infection. With regard to Covid-19, that would only happen in severe cases, not mild cases.

Damnit I am sick of getting my hopes up and then smacked in the face as nothing touches him. Just gonna accept he will ride out of Walter Read on a white stallion, that head thing stiff as a board. Shirt open, no, bare chested like Putin, with Billions of mouth breathers all maskless, screaming and bowing. Then, if he dies, I will be as exited as I was when Dallas got the onside kick, scored and beat Atlanta. I can not withstand another total let down. Four years of shattered hopes. Hope you are correct. I will toast to you Then. That’s my thoughts, and my prayer.

Corticosteroids are a double-edged sword. They suppress your immune system; that is how they bring down your inflammation. You would not give Dexamethasone for a mild case of Covid-19; it could do more harm than good by suppressing your immune system and blocking it from fighting the virus. It only makes sense when serious symptoms develop, i.e. when your immune system overreacts, causing a cytokine storm. That sort of out of control inflammation produces a pneumonia-like severe congestion in your lungs that could kill you before the virus itself kills you. That is why it is worth the risk to suppress your immune system with a corticosteroid at that point.
