Crucifying him (politically) with it this week. He looks completely deranged as he conjures the definitive 21st Century Dr. Strangeglove vibe as he waves at the Q-Anon freak show from inside the hermetically sealed Presidential Suburban with two Secret Service hostages. Trumps
Malevolent insanity and malfeasance have wrecked the country. At least 150,000 are dead who shouldnt be. The economy is wrecked for the little guy while Trumps cronies and family engorge themselves. School is ruined and so many pleasures of life are ended because of Covid
and Trumps imbecility. I wish I was able to be in the room with @SenatorCollins and
@TheRickWilson @reedgalen and @stuartpstevens when she sees the ad coming for her with Trump in the limo. Trump ended his Presidency this week. The disclosure that he is a tax cheat combined with
His unhinged and out of control debate performance, which included a call to arms for fascist militia groups, threats of violence and sinister insinuations about a peaceful transition of power being dependent on his victory were more than enough to finish him. But at long
last Karma has found its way to Donald John Trump. His recklessness and casual disregard for human life have caused an epic tragedy in America. That same recklessness and buffoonery has destroyed his campaign. It is bankrupt and broken. Its leadership is scandalized. There
is chaos in the White House and in the campaign. It is coming apart. The staff are confused and scared. They have been disregarded and treated like disposable dog shit bags. No one trusts anyone or believes anything on the inside. Its breaking up. THE RIDE will be the
Eternal symbol of Trumps collapse. He looks like a fool. A reckless fool who failed America more than any other American who has ever lived. Get ready for Trumps version of Dukakis in the tank. It will be our tribute to Roger Ailes with a special dedication to @kimguilfoyle
for upholding the highest standards of depravity and insanity at the FNC. America, the sane part, has come to expect nothing less.

(18,272 posts)The breathtaking hypocrisy made me want to puke. Having his brown shirts clear the way so that he could pretend that he was a Christian made it worse.
And what was the point of that in the first place? Does anyone know? Even if people thought he was a Christian, it wouldn't have made sense.

(17,557 posts)It was such a shocking thing that nobody has asked, "What was THAT about?"
Why would you accost a group of protesters to march down a street and hold up a book in front of a church?
A church that he has probably been in fewer than 5 times, if ever!!!!
What did it prove?
What was gained by that action?
What does DJT holding up a Bible in front of a church mean?
He didn't SAY anything - just stood there holding up a book that you KNOW he's had VERY little experience reading - EVER!!
It was a special look into the deep, empty mind of a soul-less individual that has NO business being the leader of a discussion group, let alone this great country.

And they use him. He knows that. They know it and they pretend they dont. Pretend games are a way of life.

(32,988 posts)But things were not far enough along yet. It was not the straw that broke the camel's back. This wild ride may be it.
I hope so. We have said this so many times and it has not changed things. Maybe it will, coming on top of the debate?
No enough Americans realized how unhinged he was until after the debate and the ride?
Mr. Toad's Wild Ride?

(9,103 posts)at least he wasn't putting anyone's life in danger. So to my mind there's no comparison.
This was as depraved as shooting tear gas and rubber bullets into a peaceful crowd so Trump could take a walk and hold a Bible upside down in front of a church.
In both cases the safety of others was sacrificed so the Mango Mussolini could get his photo op.

Lee "May-he-burn-in-hell/I-don't-give-a-flying-fuck-if-he-apologized-on-his-death-bed" Atwater gave us the grotesque spectacle of the Willie Horton ad and, I presume, the ridicule of Michael Dukakis for suiting up and riding in tank. (How is this any more ridiculous than George W. Bush donning a G.I. Joe flight suit and posing before a "Mission Accomplished" banner on an aircraft carrier -- when the only mission that had been accomplished was lying our way into a war that killed tens of thousands?)
Trump's clueless narcissism and heartless cruelty combine to create a toxic cocktail of depravity, on full display in this moronic joyless ride.

Okay, back to Schmidts description of Trumps unhinged motorcade parade no one can stop him. Was it to placate him? Way past time to invoke the 25th Amendment.

(10,599 posts)And the way he talks, the repub party he wants, differs tremendously from what it is now. I think he's smart enough to know how it evolved, and that it wasn't simply Drumpf that made it become the complete disaster that it is now.
I would hope that Biden works with him, and keeps him on his side going forward. What he does later, is of less concern at the moment. We need all the help available right now, and he seems to believe in Biden enough to support him.

(93,617 posts)He might support a Republican Party where they are socially liberal and and on economics more of a free market type . But in that case it would involve a huge shift in US politics. ANd it would also mean more non whites , lgbt , and other minorities will vote Republican while many who now vote Republican will not do so.

(2,626 posts)allows that patient to walk out of the hospital to take a ride and endanger the lives of those around him.
I am not a mental health professional but literally hundreds of them are on record saying that this man is dangerously mentally ill.
If it were any other patient who refused to cooperate with hospital policies to the point of endangering others he would be sedated and kept in a locked ward or room. Why is this case different?
Why has he not been declared mentally unfit to hold office? Why are the professionals at Walter Reed National Hospital willing to allow one of their patients to take actions with a very real potential to kill others?

(7,920 posts)Just Trump saying 'False alarm folks, I'm fine!'
The quick COVID tests aren't all that reliable, possibly a false positive for baby president, and he panicked, and now the Walter Reed doctors are too polite to say . . . Nah, he's just faking it, not positive, we did some follow up tests. All clear!
wnylib
(26,014 posts)about whether he really is sick and how sick, if he is, you just gave me another angle to think about. Not saying I think it's true, just tossing another speculation into the mix. The waters are so muddied now, what difference can it make?
What if Trump never even tested positive? He is known to be a germophobe, despite his carelessness about the coronavirus. Suppose he got so frightened by all the people testing positive around him that he wanted to get away to someplace safer than the contaminated WH?
He would never admit publicly to such fear, even though it would have been legitimate to remove a president from a contaminated atmosphere for his safety. So instead he claims that he and Melania are both positive as an excuse to leave the WH. He then persuades Walter Reed to go along with the charade in order to keep him safe and protect his image as a courageous leader.

(2,193 posts)It's his drug, and like a drug addict, he doesn't care how many people he screws over to get it. Being born with his Ascendant at 29 degrees of Leo, this is conjunct, to the exact degree, the Royal fixed star Regulus, AKA Cor Leonis, or the HEart of the Lion in Latin. With the Royal star Regulus on his Ascendant, he expects to be treated like a king. To him, that's what the presidency is, and what he has been trying to make it into for his whole term in office. The idea of serving others is totally alien to him.

(2,217 posts)rejoicing in Trumps's stupidity will not guarantee that he will lose the election. Let's not forget that he will receive tens of millions of votes, perhaps even enough to re-elect him if enough Dems decide not to vote, like in 2016.

(18,021 posts)FuzzyRabbit
(2,217 posts)only 55% of eligible voters bothered to vote. Many people have no interest in the news and current events.
Right now it looks like Biden will win by a landslide. It looked that way for Hillary in 2016 also. Many Dems thought that Hillary was a shoe in to win and so did not vote.
So Trump won enough states to win the electoral vote. We can't let that happen again.
