Every day that Trump is not even at 45 % it says, you lose. I remember from the McGovern and Mondale campaigns.

(23 posts)I hate to sound like a gloomy gus but Trump and co are not acting like they expect to lose. That should concern us. After all they see the same polls we do. And now all the media is talking about is his "covid" and he's milking it for all he can. No more distracting talk of tax refunds. I don't think this will hurt him long term. While I don't believe in conspiracies I think Trump will use this to his advantage.

(38,441 posts)...steal it for them. I think the margin has to be much closer than it is for that to be possible. I hope it stays at least as big as it is.

(26,044 posts)I know that Democrats are suffering PTSD after 2016, but let's get real. Projecting enthusiastic confidence until the moment the candidate comes to the podium to concede is standard operational procedure for any campaign, including the ones that lose in a blowout. And, to be frank, I've seen things a lot more subdued in the Trump camp this week, as well as a number of other Republican officeholders and professionals seeming to be laying the groundwork for rationalizing a loss since the first debate ended.

(490 posts)Their desperate marriage of attempted TRUMP STRONG photo ops and continued negative campaigning suggests a campaign CONVINCED that it's going to lose, and is just throwing shit around in the hope that something, somehow sticks. The whole Trump operation revolves around a phony perception of strength, and theyve appeared anything but in recent weeks.
