General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsThe most hilarious part of the coverage of this effin' circus is
the line that he's showing the world that he is still strong and functioning.
The entire planet has been laughing at this lazy, ignorant, racist, divisive fool for nearly four years.
We don't care whether he goes out in a box or via electoral defeat. We still can't believe how he was allowed to steal the presidency. It was funny for a while, but he's way past his sell date. Now it's tiring, clownish and sad.
On Saturday when I saw the men and women in white coming down the stairs I saw pallbearers and as I saw the Covid Caravan on a joyride, they reminded me of a funeral procession. By death or defeat he's going to be buried soon and very soon.
He won't get the last laugh.

To the cult, yes.

(11,885 posts)Trying to steal your vote one way or another , and pulling these idiotic pr stunts only expose him more . The lying about his health now , and refusal to keep the American people informed with the truth is driving more people away from voting for this corrupt criminal desperate now to keep our votes from counting. This exposes his disaster he's caused our country to still be in, while he's promoting these staged events for publicity and political reasons, and while people are still dying every day. trumps a fraud, always will be.

Buffoon doesn't quite describe him. He is stark raving mad.
If I were writing a book on the Killa Con years, the cover would be his golden toilet and the title would be The Shitshow on Dexamethasone

I blame TV and Hollywood. In the 50's and 60's they made serious films, historical films. educational. If we produce any of that today it's high-brow niche market that attracts low volume. Americans vote with their spending, and they want plastic, ego, slick wheels, boom boxes, and sports. We get what we pay for. Trump was the perfect fit for ignorant voters.
America needs to clean house.
Would Trump be a shoo-in for reelection without COVID? That's an alarming question to me.

(2,426 posts)Spot on Bucolic! The Great Dumbing Down and the rise of Trash Culture has been very successful. Just pick up an old magazine from 1962. The Saturday Evening Post was a magazine in many working class homes back then. My parents read it cover to cover even though they didn't ever attend college. It was full of long articles of international coverage with rich vocabulary and higher level thinking. For example: An 8 page spread on Nasser and the Middle East, an article about Melina Marcuri who was minister of culture in Greece and wanted the Elgin marbles back, national news about real people saying important things about foreign policy. I think The Great Dumbing Down was well planned!
