Why are you on a discussion forum if you are only interested in what you have to say?

There was a thread last week where the same comment was addressed/ explained again and again in the body of the thread and still at post 35 or so the same question, which had been asked and answered three times, is asked

and you clarify something because it was misunderstood or you were not clear enough. People ignore your further posts and it spirals out of control. I had to self delete before because of that.

however, sometimes something similar will be posted but the person who posted it changed the name of the article etc. so it doesn't come up in your search. Also, you can check the current page and not see it but someone posted it earlier enough that it is pushed off the front page and often if someone else posts the same thing then the person who posted it first will give their own article a kick or someone else will comment on it and then you have the same two articles near one another suddenly. It just happens from time to time that the same stuff gets posted even when people are checking.

If I realize the same thing was posted before mine then I will delete mine. But if I posted first I will leave it up.

we're not hidden. There were so many that there would be several in a row near the top of the list, and several more further down. It was as though the first page of GD was at least half Kayleigh covid posts!

along with posting things that someone has already posted. DUers want to inform people of things they learn from the news. So, multiple posts are always common here.

The problem with calling such things out is that those who do so are likely to make their own mistakes and get some ridicule. Comes with the territory.

Duplicated posts are not all that important, really. They fall off the thread list pretty quickly, and do no real harm.

"Does anyone even read posts here anymore?
Been noticing it more and more... more and more new posts keep appearing and keep getting pushed down the page. So many of them have only a few replies because they don't stick around long enough to get read.

And then there are the duplicate posts: the same subject matter, on the same page, covered in posts by different people.

Are we just that much into writing, or are we being hacked? "
