...my sister says, Im in Cal, it doesnt matter- its Cal." / my brother says, In Tx, it won't matter- its Tx.
I say, "OMG Im overseas! Just vote!
(this is an amended version of a previous post)
I voted (done!
) because I always vote no matter where I am but this time every-n-all must VOTE (please!
because HE is a mask of a man who cannot eke out an honest natural smile, a filthy convolution of mouldy-sour fetid opinion (a fetor that not even gallons of cheap cologne can conceal), a crude elitist and lawless savage who has never successfully even put two and two together because he has no skillset other than raw criminality and in his miserable existence has never been held accountable or managed a single legitimate, respectable accomplishment.
He may be losing on paper but because HIM the process will be chaotic wreckage because HE is a dysfunctional, baby, sub-primate whose entire life has been one long protracted temper tantrum; and while he is a perennial looser his goon squad is capable of an orchestrated win via catastrophic means.
So, I'll vote for Biden whom I kinda like (that smile does lure me in
but whom I do not particularly trust (given his affinity for republicans and republicanism).
I will forever believe that Senator Sanders would have won in 2016 and in 2020 and I will forever ruminate on how life might have been had he been allowed to but it is what it is so I'll partake in a forced compromise one more time because HIM- oh, and also to avenge Shamey Phoney Parrot!

If he votes for the Democratic candidates we can rid ourselves of John (Corona) Cornyn.

(47 posts)yeah- when I enquire about such BASIC matters I get a scary level of apathy- often a boilerplate: "I don't bother w/politics" response
to which this time around I've said "this is not politics this is survival" but am brushed off as being hyperbolic. Sometimes I wonder if being overseas gives me a different (clearer?) perspective and sometimes I wonder if I'm the sister of another father

(7,822 posts)I mean, Im in California. Because of the electoral college, yeah... my vote for president is probably not gonna make a difference. Calis going for Biden. I am thrilled to vote for him and against Trump, but still, not gonna be the deciding vote...
But there are still so many more reasons to vote! First, the popular vote does make a difference. I want Biden going in with as much of a mandate as we can muster. I want Trump humiliated. I want to send a huge message.
Also, there are so many down ballot issues and candidates where the Electoral College is not in play and every vote can and does matter.
Lastly, people fought and died so we could have the right to vote. Ill be damned if Im gonna voluntarily give that up.
