It was All a Lie, How the Republican Party Became Donald Trump by Stuart Stevens. A must read.

I have read them all. Well, not all of them. But almost all of the anti-Trump books, especially those by Republicans.

This one is well worth your time. The most interesting thing to me is the part about how the GOP lied long before Trump. He says it goes back to the 40s and 50s and basically it was how can we create our own reality and how much can we get away with. He sees Trump as the natural outcome of that culture of lies which is why "they" stick with him now.

It's not much we don't know, except perhaps how deliberate it is/was, but it is interesting to hear a former (hopefully) republican being so honest about the GOP.

I highly recommend it.

Before 9/11, Katrina, $1TT taxcuts, illegal war with Iraq, and BS "ownership" society that unsecured mortgages created...which led to major economic rectal lock-up (2007).

Nice to see normal Republicans catching up. Actually, it is great to see the Scarborough's, Wallace's, Schmidt's, Stevens, and Wilson's waking up to the mess that they happily supported and created. It is never too late to join the intelligent party.

Although, back then, there were great Mid-west Democrats like Fred Harris who was a very cool guy. He brought a keg to our Political pow-wow at Holy Cross and we had a great time drinking and talking politics. What happened Okie Democrats?
