Kamala Harris should request a better stage setup.

The stage is definitely not safe. Those shields might help if someone sneezes directly in the other person's direction, but the desks are too close, and the virus can still spread in the air around the shields.

What a terrible setup. I'm really worried for Kamala's health.

Honestly, I'm in favor of what will be helpful politically at this point. I suspect that pulling out would not be helpful - I could be wrong.

I was expecting it to be like Jaime Harrison’s.
This doesn’t look like it would be effective in any way.

Why the hell do they have to be in the same room?

That said, Pence should damn well be in quarantine and not out and about potentially infecting countless others. They should debate virtually but yes, they SHOULD DEBATE.

This set-up may be designed to minimize risk, but it is certainly not failsafe. Frankly, this is probably the best we are going to get.

I'd say Zoom only, and only if moderator has mute buttons.

Why risk becoming infected?

Why allow repukes to set the standards? And wtf is with Pence insisting they both sit?

She should imho, tell him to go fk himself.

Her way or the highway. Repukes need to bring their numbers up. Dems do not need this debate, certainly not compared to the risk of Kamala's health!

allow. Her team also demanded Cleveland Clinic review and their recommended distance of 12 feet over six feet be initiated.

I'd hardly say she is allowing THEM to dictate terms. Quite the opposite, actually. Pence has had to fold multiple times.

Not that I get a vote on this.

I just worry for her safety!

Chumputin & co. seem determined to infect everyone! Esp now that shitstain & his coconspirators are +.

They want to level that aspect of the playing field so they can say Joe is at greater risk due to being older.

She does not need this debate, he does.

Makes absolutely no sense!

She should clearly state: zoom only, mute buttons mandatory. Anything less, no debate.

Oh, and btw, she should stand, if she wishes.

Repukes are the ones who are in need of a strong debate performance. Make them do it HER way.

...unless the entire WH outbreak is a hoax...

OR...Did pence have covid-19 back in May and lie about it (when his press secretary caught it)? It's not really a stretch to think that since tRump tried to cover up his (and Hope Hicks's) status.

Either way, Sen Harris should demand to see pence's most recent test result. Even if he had covid-19 in the past, there's no guarantee he can't catch and spread it again.
