those moderators have no courage.

If I was moderating I would not meekly say "Thank you Mr vice president" to stop him , I would raise my voice until he stops yelling over him if I have to.

They are either so intimidated or meek that they can't control the candidates, or they carry politeness way too far.

So while Harris could negotiate somewhat, neither she nor we the people can adequately insist on reasonable moderators.

Moreover, moderators are selected from a pool of people whose jobs demand they not alienate political candidates they may later need "access" to.

I wish debates were of a format insisted on by a neutral third party that represented the voters instead, but that's no longer the case.
