(53,978 posts)1. The young players are coming to the fore. What happened to Coco Gauff?
She didn't play in the US open either.

(269,328 posts)3. Remember now Coco is sixteen
I maintain that her parents were wrong to expose her so early. She lost in three sets in the 1st round of the US Open. She lost in three sets in the 2nd round in Paris.

(53,978 posts)4. Oh, I didn't hear about her US Open appearance, or the French. She is young.
We'll hear from her again.

With Djokovic out at the US Open, I think we got a good view of the next generation on the men's side post the "big three". The same is true on the women's side as Serena starts to age out of the power position.
It's a great year for tennis. My only regret this year is that the "Cincinnati" tourney was held in NYC. I understand why but I look forward to my week basting in the sun from 10am to 10pm watching great tennis close up.
Here's to 2021 !!!!
