I will say that his apologetic video statement at the link sounds sincere, so maybe he has in fact learned something important from this self-inflicted career damage.

"Three days before he was set to make his "Saturday Night Live" debut, country singer Morgan Wallen has been told he will not perform on the show after social media captured him partying with strangers without a mask last weekend.
Wallen made the announcement Wednesday from his hotel room in New York City, having already traveled to appear on the show. He said he spoke to show creator Lorne Michaels earlier in the day, and was informed he would be removed from Saturday's show.
"I'm not positive for COVID," he said. "But my actions this past weekend were pretty short sighted, and they've obviously affected my long term goals and my dreams.
I respect the show's decision, because I know that I put them in jeopardy."...(more)

(100,088 posts)Every time they attempt to, it winds up coming back to bite them in the ass. Much like last year when they tried to an actor to appeal to MAGAs, and the guy they got turned out to be the most rootin' tootin' racist white Trump supporter you could imagine.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) Country artist Morgan Wallen was arrested on charges of public intoxication and disorderly conduct after an incident Saturday night at Kid Rocks Honky Tonk on Lower Broadway.
According to an arrest affidavit, officers observed security guards for the establishment remove the 27-year-old around 11 p.m. due to him being disorderly by kicking glass items inside. Officers said they gave Wallen several opportunities to walk away with his friends, but he refused.
Police reported Wallen had a strong odor of alcohol and appeared to be a danger to himself and others. Officers said he got into multiple verbal altercations with people passing by and was arrested due to being intoxicated in public, unable to take care of himself and the reasonable likelihood the offense would continue.
