Especially if the polls stay where they are at the present time.
Democrats cannot be ready to accept Donald Trump as the "legitimate" President again. He has stolen one election already. He cannot be permitted to steal another.
Democrats, in my opinion, should not be bashful about calling Trump's actions unacceptable and illegitimate, and they will not be accepted if he wins.

(9,313 posts)I have been accused of sowing "doom" and "gloom" for pointing out the the polls don't account for stolen votes -- and Republican SOS's and Republican controlled counties are VERY good at suppressing votes in Democratic strongholds.
Pointing out the reality is not sowing doom and gloom. It is a call to do everything in our power to make sure their efforts to corrupt the election do not succeed. It is a call to work our asses off after the election to eliminate barriers and ensure EVERY state runs a truly free and fair elections in the future. (And doing so will probably require a new Federal voting rights act.)
Tragically, the suppression tactics are in operation. We must WIN BIG -- big enough to overcome the systematic corruption of the elections, particularly in "key states."
Beware overconfidence. It suppresses turnout. (Having to jump through hurdles to vote plus overconfidence can beget thoughts like: "Biden is winning away, he doesn't need my vote." )

(26,045 posts)...there will be no way to prove it.
We'll just see an Election Night with the predicted "red mirage," but the subsequent "blue wave" will never materialize. Trump will be legitimately declared the winner of the crucial states, and the media, with no physical evidence to back up charges, will just write it off to another "upset."
BOTTOM LINE: Don't give them any basis to reject your ballot! If you're not voting in-person, make sure you've mailed your ballot strictly according to instructions (security code, signing the envelope with exactly the same name as printed there, having it witnessed if your state requires it) and either mailing it two weeks before Election Day, or using a drop box at least a day before (and preferably the day you receive it). And use whatever online mechanism your state has to verify your ballot was received and accepted, and be ready to correct any problems that may come up should it be rejected.

(9,313 posts)Unfortunately, the Republican controlled key states are counting on Dems voting by mail in far greater numbers -- and they are counting on disqualifying as many of those votes as possible.
Tragically, we must WIN KEY STATES BIGGER than the current polls show. The polls don't account for suppression. Any state that Biden doesn't have a lead greater then Margin of Error + 5% is at risk of being stolen.
It is NO TIME for overconfidence. We need every Democratic voter to be motivated to cast their vote -- whatever the hurdles. And, as you point out, to cast a 100% error-free ballot, with all required certifications, witnesses, notarizations, whatever, and packaged in strict accord with the rules. No one should be tempted to say "fuck it" to waiting in obscene lines or fuck it to jumping through hurdles because they think "Biden is winning anyway. He doesn't need my vote."
