Early voted in Ohio today...Cleveland. The lines were long but hubs who had spinal surgery last year

was concerned about standing for a long time so he brought his walker which he uses if he has to stand or walk long distances...and they let us go in handicapped line where there were chairs...we were out in about a half an hour. I turned in our mail order ballots and cast my early vote ballot. I want my ballot counted on election night. Everyone had on a mask.

Why did you have to wait in line to turn in a mail ballot? LisaL Oct 2020 #1

There should have been a drop box? Or did you mean you decided to vote in person instead of by mail? Your mail ballots would have been still counted before the election. OH starts counting them before the election and reports them on election day after election is over.

you would have to surrender the ballot that was mailed to you in order to vote on the machines.

But people don't need to worry that mail in ballots won't be counted early. OH starts counting them before the election, so they will also be counted early if they get in before the election.

Glad you got the ballot in so there is no problem with signatures and such.

I'm in California and I will probably vote early too. I did that for the primary because I was going to be out of state for work. It was a breeze to use the new touch screens...and these screens allow you to review all your votes. Then they print out a paper ballot that is placed in a security envelop, then you drop them in the ballot box. It was such a good experience. I almost always vote in person at my polling place. I like doing that rather than mail-in, but with COVID I'm thinking I would at least vote early and hopefully be a little safer.

box. And the actual voting sheet goes in machine we had two sheets. You fill out little ovals so you could have infamous hanging chads I suppose but you also have a paper ballot for posterity. Stay safe when you vote. Wecwere masked up.

I agree that we need Biden having won decisively on election night, we can’t give Trump room to sow doubt about the results.

sit on a ballot for even one day before filling it out and getting it back in the mail (if they vote by mail), or in person early vote as soon as possible.

Would extend the time ballots could be received and thus they could be counted after the election day. And you have a signiture match as well with mail in ballots. This is Ohio with a GOP governor. I feel better having my ballot in and I could do it pretty easily. It is of course a choice.
