What would you do if your boss was infected with Covid-19

And infested 40-60 others, and is forcing you to come to work around him and others infected anyway, and without protections, and threatens you you'll lose your job if you don't? I wouldn't go. Me and my family's health is more important, plus I couldn't work for someone that evil and corrupt.

First, with me, it’s two bosses of equal status at the top. Both are extremely health conscious, and not only demand strict health precautions in the head office, but follow the same guidelines themselves. Second, as station chief for Europe, I am 5000 miles from them.

He was president of the ALA at one time. Awesome guy. I’d not worry about his care for the staff.

With no timeframe for going back in the office.

I'd tell my boss good luck and feel better soon.

I have to be down in Paris next week. Sprout City, too. No way out of it. I just will have to hope that being sensible is enough. At least in France, you don't have Republicans ripping people's masks off their faces just because Trump says they aren't necessary.

And more power to you, I couldn't do that.

I just put a WiFi extender in the garage so I can take my laptop out in the woods on a nice day (I have some paths and little sitting areas out there) and work surrounded by nature. Going from city to city like that is so not me.

One thing that makes it easier is that I speak the language of every country I work with on a regular basis. When I'm in Paris, I speak French. When I'm in Barcelona, I speak Catalan. When I'm in Utrecht, I speak Dutch. When I'm in Frankfurt, I speak German. When I'm in Zürich, I speak Schwyzerdüütsch. etc etc. I love the culture-hopping. It keeps the old brain cells alive. Being based in Düsseldorf, I'm fairly centrally located.

I like getting out into nature, too, but in measured doses. Besides, my job involves a lot of detection of counterfeit money, both modern and old. I can't do that from a distance.
