In the debates keep track of the time each candidate speaks out of turn/ talks over their time ...
At the end of the event, find the difference between the candidates and allow the one who had the least speaking time to have free speech for that time.
It appears that the GOP candidates are not capable of abiding by the rules they had agreed to - this is an attitude- rule of law for everyone ELSE- exception for the GOP candidate....this is in evidence throughout their administration.

(4,029 posts)However, the most insulting thing would be to mute their mic. It would make the offender look bad(?), or better yet, stupid for ignoring the rules.
Its not a hard decision. Trump has no idea of what a debate actually is or how it is conducted, despite being told the rules in advance and how to conduct yourself. He made a mockery of the debate and now refuses to debate again solely due to the shellacking that he got from Biden.
The worlds greatest mind simply is not up to the challenge. Thats how dictators operate.

(2,117 posts)If you go over, you lose the amount of time you went over from your next answer.
For example, if you are allotted 2 minutes for each question and you take 3 minutes on the first question, you get 1 minute on the next question. Once you go over your total allotment, your mic is disabled and you get escorted off the debate stage.

(2,146 posts)Moderator tells you to make your closing statement and then exit the stage. The other candidate gets the rest of the debate time, uninterrupted, to spell out their agenda
