Being a Senior is something you age into, and die off from. Many people who are collecting SS and are on Medicare were not four years ago. They are actually a group with pretty high turnover. I never thought of this until I moved into a Senior mobile home park four years ago. This place turns over like a college dorm. There are 14 mobile homes on my street, and there have been five deaths in four years. New people have moved in and most of them weren't 65 or even 60 four years ago.

That is the transition you described so well. Silent Generation is a comparatively small generation but also the most right leaning generation, due to many coming of voting age when Eisenhower was so popular.

As Silent Generation slowly leaves the voter rolls and is replaced by Boomers, that is a steady net gain for the Democratic candidates.

I mentioned this years ago, especially in regard to the senior composition of 2020. Florida has always had the highest percentage of Silent Generation in the country. The generational shift of seniors was going to lessen Trump's percentage among 65+, even without the Social Security and Medicare issues.

I have family members who live in "the Villages". They are so pro tRump that we have agreed not to talk politics during our phone calls. I was told by one family member that the Villages support tRump. I don't know how many but it certainly seemed to me that it was a large group.

We've had so many conversations about politics that a truce was necessary or we'd never speak again.
It is a lovely area, filled with transplants from other parts of the country and as I was told, filled with seniors who think tRump is the second coming.

Scares the heck out of me. Don't count on them.
