If they don't do this, the GOP will survive.
The GOP can't win without the EC. The EC helps suppress the vote. The EC provides a framework for foreign interests (or merely well-funded shadow interests) to manipulate our elections via the internet.
The EC must be abolished to preserve democracy.

(31,260 posts)all the rest of the House Caucus and the Senate are holding firm? Take deep breaths, go register someone to vote, get involved in a local campaign, they need phone and text volunteers, but endless fretting will only beget more endless fretting.

Pelosi has pulled her punches in the past.

(31,260 posts)and don't understand legislation and how the House works and the rules that are set that must be adhered to in order to be a democratic republic.
BTW, women aren't short men and have a different style (see countries run by women and how they are all COVID free) and what is that "scruff" business about with Congressman Schiff?

(560 posts)WRT to Speaker Pelosi - I've had the same complaint about Reid and Schumer.
Democrats have been outmaneuvered by the GOP in congress regardless of who's in power for at least a couple of decades.
I have much more hope for Schiff and hope to see Speaker Cortez in about 10 years.
Schumer has the right idea when he said that a SCOTUS nomination this year would put "all options back on the table."

The race I want to see flip is South Carolina. I want Lindsey Graham gone. He was once a decent man if he ever was at one time. But since Trump, Graham has turned into an ass-kisser d head cheerleader for Trump.

We donated to Greenfield last month and I think we will do it again once I figure out how much we can spare tonight.
It looks like Greenfield, Ossoff, and Gross are three who are in winnable fights and could use the money the most.

(17,520 posts)Polls are skimpy in Mississippi. But:
-Among B and B/C polls listed on 538, Espy has gone from -10 in February to -8 in May to -5 in early August to -1 at the end of August. The most recent poll at -1 was showing a 26 point spread back in March.
-Mississippi is racist and voter suppressive as hell, but they also have one of the highest percentages of black people in the country, at 38%.
- Espy got a respectable 46.4% against Hyde Smith in a special election in 2018. That was with a 32.5% black turnout.
- with Kamala on the ticket and a general election, and Kamalas Divine 9 and K-Hive advantage, black turnout may really climb.
- according to this article, donation for Espy will help fund Get Out the Vote efforts.
Seems worth a shot.
