George Floyd’s great-great-grandfather acquired 500 acres of land during Reconstruction.

All of it was stolen by white farmers who seized the land, using legally questionable maneuvers that were common in the postwar South.

Policing. I've been living with this my whole 70+ year life and it only gets marginally better, followed by getting worse. It's so frustrating for this white person, I can't imagine how frustrating it is if you're black. Soul destroying.
