John Heilemann on Arizona

"I have never been in Arizona when there has been consensus across the spectrum, Republican and Democratic sources, that this is the year Arizona is going blue, at the Senate level and the Presidential level."...."I couldn't find anybody in Arizona who does not at this point think that Joe Biden is going to win the State and Martha McSally is gonna get creamed in the Senate race."

Lifelong Dem who still hates R's over a recession in the 1950's. Despises Trump. Worries me that he gets so stressed over the orange menace. He'll be delighted to see AZ go blue.

But I really really want Texas to become blue, because that means Republicans are out out of power until they change.

There was a line going out the door for both in-person and dropoff voting. Lots of folks doing so rather than depend on the mail. Almost everyone I know is going to vote Blue. The only hold outs for trump are the dink wing of my family, in Pinal County. Here in Pima County we always go Blue.

My 71-year old mother wore her RBG t-shirt the day we dropped off. Everyone seemed to be in a great mood.

Vote early and Stay Safe!!

That's gotta be a little concerning to poor sally.

I think it's going to be close and hoping it finally happens. But there are still people who just don't get it and will vote for rethugs which are in direct opposition to the very things they hold dear. People, who should be voting blue, are standing up to save a herd of federally protected wild horses in the Sitgreaves National Forest. Welfare ranchers are pushing to have the horses removed, even if it means they go to slaughter. The welfare ranchers are huge tRump supporters. But so are the wild horse advocates who live among the welfare ranchers. The wild horse advocates and the welfare ranchers seem to disagree on everything except when it comes to their support of tRump. The rethugs are an environmental disaster. Wildlife means nothing to them. The Forest Service is in bed with the welfare ranchers. The horse advocates know this but for some reason they love tRump. I cannot figure out why.

There are none so blind as those who will not see.

I have lived in Arizona my whole, long, life. I'm sick of the 'good ole boy' mentality. We need to turn Arizona blue!

I've been watching their roller coaster for a year

They stopped trying to justify his insanity and bullshit about a month ago.
Now, several are going Libertarian (because they have no clue what that means), most have gone silent and the few stragglers are just crazy and refuse to fact check.

don't read newspapers, don't look at polls, and don't understand how the election here in AZ is likely to turn out.

They are blissfully putting up their Trump signs and banners. I hope they are about to face the shock of their lives.

of Midwest and East Coast retirees in the last 2-3 years may tip that in our favor - only time and an ACCURATE vote count will tell. Having Gov Ron DeInsane involved makes me doubt the latter.

I was a blue wave ballot!
McSally already lost in 2018. She was appointed by Doosey. Not a spelling error.
I was thrilled to vote for Mark Kelly
And Gabby Kelly for Pima county recorder.
She’s Native American and making a historic run!

Arizona will be Blue! We outnumber them.

allows absentee ballots sent over email. We set this up 5 years ago. I have lived abroad and Az was my last address. I have to print the ballot and sign it and scan it. Then I email the file and have the electronic and paper copy.

but that would appear so. I had to call them first and then we had to send and receive a couple of emails to verify everything. I had to scan my driver's license and signature and since they had all of that on file, I was able to receive a ballot. It's a good thing that email is working because the snail mail might be delayed. We got the ballot on Sept 19 and I voted on the 22nd.
