I'm getting a vibe from trump and supporters that I don't like.

They talk about law and order, while the man constantly breaks laws, leaving “order” laying dead in the wake of his path. They throw around the term court packing, while trump packs the courts, dhs, postal service, and many other agencies with his crooked friends. They seem to be ok with people being beaten, shot, run over by cars, stabbed, you name it, if it’s in the name of the right. They don’t give a rats ass about people working full time jobs, having to borrow money to buy diapers, food, rent, etc. They don’t care about hundreds of thousands of Americans dying for the rich man. They don’t care about real family’s, running away from real fucked up countries, in hopes of staying alive.

The right seems to have taken on a new personal goal. Beat down anybody who would defend themselves against right wing thugs, and poverish oppression, while calling them criminals for defending themselves. They’ll work as hard as they can, only to work against anything that promotes humanity. The only thing they seem to care about is that damn stock market, even if they’re too poor to partake in it, and protecting the damn billionaires. How long can they beat on and hate everybody who just wants to live a fair life? Do these people even know why they hate the left? I really wonder.

Are they really trying to start a war? What do you guys think about what they’re going to do after their unsuccessful attempt to rig the election? I would love to hear your thoughts. Me personally, I’m worried about their reaction. They’re already trying to kidnap politicians, and beating up protesters in the streets, and they haven’t lost yet. I would love for someone to call me paranoid, and this all be a bad dream.

To be honest though, I don’t really remember how I found du, but I have been a fan of the site since the impeachment trial days of what seems like a century ago. I have found an abundance of good voices on this site, I just took a while to join. I am astonished at the amount of people in this country that will take a politicians words at face value, especially trumps. His supporters won’t even fact check him, it’s gross. They speak of his day to day crap, like they were standing next to him, and saw it with their own eyes. They seem to have no idea that his SOLE accomplishment, has been saving his own ass. Honestly, trump, and right have turned me blue. I was independent, as I used to believe that both sides had something to offer, or maybe I just wanted to believe that.

I love the cartoons too!

“Socialism is a scare word they have hurled at every advance the people have made in the last 20 years.

Socialism is what they called public power. Socialism is what they called social security.

Socialism is what they called farm price supports.

Socialism is what they called bank deposit insurance.

Socialism is what they called the growth of free and independent labor organizations.

Socialism is their name for almost anything that helps all the people.

When the Republican candidate inscribes the slogan "Down With Socialism" on the banner of his "great crusade," that is really not what he means at all.

What he really means is "Down with Progress--down with Franklin Roosevelt's New Deal," and "down with Harry Truman's fair Deal." That's all he means.”

Harry S. Truman

They have always hated anything that is good for ALL the people. They haven’t really changed in centuries. No. They don’t want a war. They just want to be rich (at the expense of the majority).

You can match any Trump supporter with some mix of only those three.

because the fools see that as the only alternative to their dying world view. But it will die and it will not need a war. Just our VOTE!

.....makes a fair point.

But it’s also a fair point, imo, to recognise that thousands and thousands of voters who fit the stereotype it shows - who ought to be voting Dem you’d think - have either stayed home lately, or voted Rep’ because they believe (rightly or wrongly, it hardly matters) that stuff they value is being eroded from the left.

They have ideas of patriotism, or faith or heritage for example that they’ve concluded the left has abandoned in favour of a more liberal set of priorities.

It remains to be seen whether Trump has lost the hold he had on this group come Election Day.

I speak as an outsider looking in, but it looks to me like a carbon copy of where the Labour Party in the UK found itself at the last GE, when whole swathes of seats in northern industrial/post industrial areas - who would normally vote for a donkey provided it had a Labour rosette pinned on it - abandoned them in favour of Boris the conservative, entirely on account of their agreeing with him on seeing through Brexit, which Labour appeared to be resisting.

If the left can’t win these folks back over, somethings gone terribly wrong.

Here in the south it been building since the civil rights act passed.

But now they look around and see their white bread, evangelical Christian, Anglo Saxon, know-nothing culture slowly being eclipsed by a more cosmopolitan, diverse, forward thinking and secular. And the worst part is so many of their kids are rejecting their views. That hurts.

They see it as totally unAmerican and will go to the mat to stop it. But it’s like stopping the incoming tide.
