Saw on another forum people waiting in line for 10 hours yesterday for early voting.
That is criminal.

(14,124 posts)These Fascists must be stopped from pulling this shit or they will keep on keeping on this same path and then exponentially worse.
Blocking anyone from voting should be firing squad time. No blindfold,.. the last vision they see is the projectile racing towards their head.
One person,.. one vote. But only if we like the neighborhood you come from. If you are from the wrong side of the tracks,.. expect to stand in the line to vote for over ten hours or more due to all sorts of nefarious ploys and schemes of voter suppressions.
Fuck that shit.

(9,263 posts)and we had lines in Illinois for the first week all over state in many areas. But it is Georgia and they will do the minimum in making it easy to vote

(54,770 posts)so you don't have to use the mail to return the ballot. If folks request a ballot right now, they'll have it by the 20th at worst, two weeks before Nov 3.
I think the lines will shorten within a few days.

(8,995 posts)In CA we get a text notice that our ballots have been picked up by USPs
Then another text when the letters are received by the Registrar of voters
You can check the delivery online or by calling.

When the Dems have full control next year, this is priority number 1, ensuring this doesn't keep happening in minority areas. Protect the right to vote! I know the states run their own elections, but they take federal money to do so, use that money as a lever to ensure safe and easy access to voting for all citizens.
Also, make the first Tuesday in November a National Holliday!
Furthermore, incentivize voting through the tax code. Say, everyone gets a $100 tax credit if they can prove they showed up to the polls in the last election. You'd be given proof when you show up, you can't force people to vote, but you can hand out those vouchers at the polls and ensure they're registered.
That will fix just about everything, the Republicans will finally be forced to respond to the people and start promoting policies that the people want.
