... but the only way to stop the appointment is to convince four republicans to not vote for her (including rhetorically or literally being struck by lightning).

So the short answer is "no".

Pubs already lost Collins & Murkowski. If they can get 2 more to say no, there wo't be enough votes to confirm.

We have two who have said that they think it should wait until later. I don't think either one has said that they would vote against her if the Senate holds a vote anyway.

If a couple GOP senators defected (they won't) or ended up in a coma (they won't) and Mitch had 49 or less votes that is the only this won't happen.

The confirmation is a sham. No matter what she says or doesn't say there will be a (nearly) by party vote and she will be confirmed.

The good news is I am not a lawyer. The bad news is lawyer or not this is a 100% political process just like the prior two justices and just like the impeachment "trial" in the Senate and just like passing the Trump tax cuts.

were changed from 3/5 vote to a straight majority vote, the ability of the minority party to delay a presidential nomination was destroyed.
