Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsHas any Dem asked Barrett about her cult membership?
Have they asked her about her cult's requirements that wives are subservient to their husbands?
Have they asked her if she has any embarrassment about the unseemly and disrespectful haste of her appointment? How she was announced before RBG was even buried? And how she'd feel if her own last wishes were utterly disregarded and her memory stomped on with this repulsive rush to confirm?
I only listened to a few Dem senators and they're deferential with a lot of futile focus on trying to get her to answer any questions on policy, law etc. Futile.
I would impugn her character tbh. Not sure why they're being so cautious

She belongs to an honest-to-God cult. Period.

(9,072 posts)The Democrats are going to lose in this nomination struggle. There is an election in three weeks, however, that is theirs to lose. They shall do no harm here.

(8,887 posts)We've danced around these cults for too long. Now we pay the piper and can't mention that Amy Coney Barrett is a literal fucking handmaid.
It's nuts

But who says the 10 Democratic senators on Judiciary are the only people who can talk about it?

(8,887 posts)We know it's true. She knows it's true. Keep the questions short and to the point.
They're already dancing around her faith ad nauseam as she gets to assert (without pushback) that she won't let her personal beliefs interfere with her jurisprudence.
After Barr's unhinged theocratic rants, or Scalia's descent into full throated Opus Dei shit, enough of the coy allusions

It should end. Now please.
We should also be assailing her eager participation in stomping all over RBG by accepting this nom before she was buried. Or bringing her kids to a superspreader event.
She's unfit. Get on it ffs

(15,700 posts)in these circumstances! And NO tiptoeing about it!
We shall have to agree to disagree.
Realizing how insane and unstable Trump is, and knowing that Trump could pull her nomination before she is confirmed, could Barrett be purposefully evasive and obtuse only to avoid saying something that Trump does not like ?.

The blank pages are as blank as her religiously programmed mind - or what's left of it.

(6,439 posts)No one wants to be seen attacking her religion. Unless they were doing animal sacrifices (and someone has video) it off limits. The last thing we need is Amy to come across as sympathetic.
I think continuing to point out the absurdity of moving forward with a SC nomination at this point is a good strategy.
Let's face it, if this hearing were on 11.4 or after, it would have a much different tone.
But it's not. This is a lesson. If we run the tables on 11.3, we need to aggressively push forward without apology. Kill the filibuster, pass our agenda and get to the bottom of the 2016, and investigate and prosecute the crimes of this administration.
