Gun sales to first-time buyers skyrocket amid fears of 'bloody' election and unrest

https://www.nbcnews.com/business/business-news/gun-sales-first-time-buyers-skyrocket-amid-fears-bloody-election-n1243510

Andreyah Garland, a 44-year-old single mother of three daughters, bought a shotgun in May for protection in the quaint middle-class town of Fishkill, New York. She joined a new and fast-growing local gun club to learn how to shoot.

She has since applied for a pistol permit and constantly hunts for increasingly scarce ammunition — making three trips weekly to a local Walmart. “They’re always out,” she said.

Like legions of other first-time buyers who are contributing to record sales for the U.S. gun industry this year, Garland’s decision to take up arms is driven in part by disturbing news about the coronavirus pandemic, social unrest over police killings of Black people and a potentially contested election that many fear could spark violence.

“With everything going on around us,” she said, “you see a need.”

The political climate has grown violent, and vituperative fascisti troll neighborhoods with the product of their unrestricted access to firearms. If you can't rely on the cops to protect you, what are you going to do? The sense of helplessness is palpable, and while I am in principal opposed to such measures, I can understand why a person in that position would want to arm up.

looking for a box of shells for the upcoming elk season.

The shelfs were empty of ammunition. Looked like the remains of a black friday sale. In talking with the clerk he made the observation that its been crazy. Anything he puts out is gone within hours.
On friday he sold 20,000 rounds of 9mm, cleaned him out.
There are dark undercurrents stirring in the PNW.

Don't be surprised if liberals are the ones buying up guns because of the hatred Trump engraved into the heads of conservatives. Proud boys, boogaloo boys...etc.

I had to go to a few local places to find the right ammunition for my guns. That stuff is hard to find now
