25-million Americans have already exercised their right to vote. Thats close to 20% of the roughly 130-million Americans who voted in 2016. We are looking at possibly 140-150 Americans voting in 2020.
We need to stop talking about Election Day. We no longer have a SINGLE DAY in November in which one can cast their vote. Voters no longer need wait in line on a specific day to cast their vote. Voters no longer need to miss out on being able to vote because the election is held on a specific work day and they cant get away from work to vote on that day. That may have been true for most of this countrys history, but it hasnt been that way in recent history.
The future of voting bends toward more options and access, not less. In many respects, the future is now. And that now is a weeks-long election season that ends with ballots being cast - and in some cases, postmarked - by Nov 3.
Election season. I like the sound of that.

(18,318 posts)And I have never voted early in Texas because it was electronic voting only No Paper Trail. In Tarrant County we now are handed a blank ballot which we feed into the voting machine to make our ballots. Then it prints out you vote from there and then fed into the scanner to be counted.
I always loved voting on the General Election day. But this year voted early.
