RNC chair says Republicans who distance from Trump are 'hurting themselves in the long run'

Ronna McDaniel, the chairwoman of the Republican National Committee, on Sunday warned Republicans against distancing themselves from President Donald Trump as the election nears closer.

McDaniel made the comments after George Stephanopoulos, moderator of ABC's "This Week" asked whether she'd seen Republican senators attempt to distance themselves from the president.

"I'm not," McDaniel said. "I think all of them have been running those similar races all along."

"We are seeing this huge energy, and we are seeing really great numbers coming out for the president, and this is a race," she added. "And any Republican that doesn't recognize that running with the president is going to help them is hurting themselves in the long run."

What are their options? I would think To just tell the truth for once is likely the best, just as Sass did

The following will happen. DEMs will do reapportionment of DEM state governments. Repuke state governments will get cram-down reapportionment through congressional legislation and US AG legal force for 1-person, 1-vote. That will end your period of RW domination. RWers with the stank of Trumpism are finished. No more sitting on your asses in WDC and pulling down a salary and all the graft you can find.

Their problem isn't Trump. Its their ideology...its incompatible with a modern society and its long past time for them to go away. Trump may have accelerated things but with the way the gop has handled the pandemic I would say they brought this on themselves.

They can distance themselves from Trump and lose his base... or they can embrace him and lose the 3rd who consider themselves independents.

Trump has put them in an impossible position and I love it. They created a monster and now that monster is eating them.
