(18,240 posts)Unless it looks like trump will win. Then I'll come onto DU and commiserate with everyone here.

(17,559 posts)Or if it's the result that we're all hoping, praying, and working for, there will be phone calls from friends in the US.
And the bottle of Ayala Champagne gets opened for breakfast.

(10,885 posts)follow up.
My only question (and it was raised by another DU poster a few days ago) is what to have on hand for snacking, chewing (other than my nails), and celebrating. It needs to be something to last for the duration yet not break the calorie bank, and easy to handle with eyes on the TV. I'm talkin' like Superbowl food!

(9,569 posts)That was the 2nd most awful thing about 2016, not having this place to vent and commiserate.

(6,496 posts)Going back and forth between working and helping my 6th grader son with school from home like every Tuesday (also Mondays and Wednesdays). I will not be staying up to watch the results because I expect it take a while to figure it all out, surely longer than one night. I will just check the news sites the next day.

(3,865 posts)counting absentee ballots. Hopefully with an enormous, joyous smile on my face, even though it will be a 12 hour work day.. at least.

(7,510 posts)By then there should be the first returns coming in from FL, NC, OH, PA and a number of other important states. States with 270 electoral votes close by 8 pm ET unless held open by the courts for some reason. Another 162 close by 9 pm ET. There are no toss-up states that close after 9 pm ET.

(5,654 posts)At some point between now and election day, I have to watch The War Room. The 1992 election is a special memory for me. I saw Bill and Al several times. I volunteered for them. The night he won, felt like the country would finally get passed Reagan.

(3,275 posts)I'm a poll worker so I will be working all day. I get two meal breaks of an hour each. I won't get home until around 10:30pm. I'm kind of happy to have a distraction. If I wasn't working, I would be home glued to my computer all day anxiously watching every race. I will probably stay up to watch the results when I get home. Fortunately, I don't have to get up early the next day. There are a lot of senate and house races that I'm watching as well as the presidential race.
Hopefully, my November 4th will be awesome. I hope that we are all celebrating.

Probably head in around 5:00pm clean the fish and boat. Cook supper.
Turn on the TV around 8:00 with a bourbon and cigar.
No need fretting over it as I cant change anything.
