Or there's one like it near Fayetteville. This is The Lincoln Project. Those guys go for the jugular every time.

Now I'm trying to remember if I ever saw billboards on that road driving back and forth to Hope Mills everyday ...

There were sacrifices made by everyone. Many commodities such as sugar, coffee, meat, cheese, fat, and canned goods were strictly rationed. Gasoline and rubber were in very short supply so people walked and forget joyrides. Clothing and shoes were limited so people made do. Everything went to the war effort. You grew a huge victory garden. Kids collected scrap metal. Everyone went to work in war production factories-noisy, gritty, hard, dirty jobs “the Arsenal of Democracy”. 16,112,565 Americans served in the armed forces. 405,399 were killed. 671,278 were wounded. Hollywood switched to wartime entertainment and propaganda. Once we became directly involved, we led, and we won and we saved the world. Now we can’t even put on a goddamn mask and our statistics are the worst in the world. We are the laughingstocks. The laggards, the example of what not to do. We are so much better than this. The spirit of America lives in all of us. With new leadership we can, and we will, and we must do better. 405,399 people gave their lives for this country and what it stands for. We will not let their deaths be in vain. Ever.

This was the first photo released by the war department and published in national media that showed U.S. soldiers killed in battle. It appeared in the September 1943 issue of LIFE Magazine, and was taken on Buna Beach during the Battle of Buna-Gona, Papua, that lasted from November 16th, 1942, until January 22, 1943.

This is the photo that came to mind when I heard Trump's quotes for the first time.

Probably too graphic for the Lincoln Project.

I don't think I've EVER "Hated" someone before. But him.... I HATE.

My dad was in WWII. He was a Lt. in the Army. He had panic attacks (as my sister and I have had on and off) but back then they called it being "shell shocked." When my sister's boyfriend (who I adored) was drafted and went to Viet Nam, he was shot five times but survived without any permanent physical disabilities. When Carl came home, it was my dad who completely took him under his wing (I don't know what Carl's family situation was). I was pretty young during this time -10 years old. Carl was at our house almost all the time (he and my sister weren't boyfriend/girlfriend anymore but remained very good friends). It was when we got older that my sister (who's eight years older than I) explained to me that Dad was the only one who Carl felt truly understood him and actually the only one he could be around for any length of time. My dad's business caused him to travel around the state (by car - in TX). He took Carl with him on a lot of his business trips.

He was a wonderful father. I mean he was amazing beyond description. He was killed in a car crash when I was 12 years old.

I don't know.....when I saw that picture just now it made me cry..

I FUCKING HATE YOU dt. You're a MONSTER.
