With all the Republicans and former Trump officials and military people coming out against him, it is political suicide to continue to do the immoral, unjustified things that he is asking them to do. And this nomination is one of them.

As I wrote to Ben Sasse the other day, "If you want to avoid a bloodbath, stop doing the wrong things! Beside you know it's wrong, hypocritical, and against the will of the people. Just because you covet it doesn't mean it's right!"

Put the pressure on them folks. The Republicans are starting to crack.

Let's put the pressure on the news media too. This is not a done deal!!!

I know, in this cynical age, we do not always believe this. Speak truth to power, we say, but we don't do it or do it strongly enough.

Now is the time to speak truth to power. And this is wrong. And it is a power grab. And anyone who assist in this will be tarnished and wounded just as clearly as it seems Trump will be tarnished and wounded.

if they wish to avoid this, they can just quietly back off!!! That, I believe, is not only the moral thing to do, I believe it is actually the wise thing to do and the thing that most assures longterm survival.

It is simply unthinkable that a President can nominate and have accepted the judge he thinks will hand an election to him. Many other reasons this is an unethical, immoral, mean-spirited, unwise move on everyone's part and they could do best for U.S., their party, and themselves by backing off!!! Not so hard to do. What I've been following is all the fear from Republican Senators about Trump tanking, assuming he does bigtime. Then there is less incentive to follow his shitty lead in putting this nomination forward. We don't need that many of them to break, and I'd like to start or continue the momentum.
