The purchase include gourmet cupcakes, a cell phone bill, grocery purchases, lavish meals, lodging at the Trump International Hotel and thousands of dollars at a Washington jeweler

The spending went on for months after he announced his retirement in December, then months after he stepped down in March, and has continued through September in the form of a PAC that has raised no money

Rep. Duncan Hunter went to prison for using campaign funds for personal expenses. The day he resigned in January, Meadows spent $1000 at the Capitol Hill Club, after he announced he would no longer be campaigning.
