Trailer park tenants say landlord sends note implying a vote for Biden is a vote for increased rent

FORT MORGAN, Colo. — The landlord of a trailer park in Fort Morgan allegedly sent a note to residents warning rent would most likely double in price if Joe Biden becomes President.

9NEWS received several emails from Fort Morgan residents concerned about the legality of the letter, calling it a form of voter suppression.

The Colorado Secretary of State’s office confirmed they have received a complaint, and told 9NEWS they passed it along to the Attorney General.

It would make me even more determined to vote for Biden. And find somewhere else to live.

And, with CV19 and even more economic uncertainty, that fear would be trebled.

Some people also think there's a way to find out how they voted, too.

If they are renting, they need first and last, and possibly a security deposit. Finding a new place these days is next to impossible. If they own their mobile home, they can’t just move it to another park. A few may be able to leave, but the majority are stuck.

Though it's local elections -propositions and candidates, that affect real estate and rental prices, not who is going to be president. Like the entrance sign board to our trailer park for notices where this month, the head of the "HOA" posted that this monthly meeting was shut down by Governer Newsom. Not that there's ever been more than 10 people (out of 400 owners) who have ever attended in a clubhouse that rated for an occupancy of 120 people, so she's totally incorrect - unless she's a petulant anti-masker, which would not be a surprise after what she posts in the park newsletter

This is voter intimidation. And I wonder what might happen to a tenant with a Biden-Harris sticker on their vehicle.
