(3,972 posts)he deserves no ratings and it will be typical lying dotard. Nothing new.
He probably walked out knowing the controversy would drive ratings.

(146,288 posts)You know that Biden an Harris are also interviewed in that upcoming program, right? You know that Trump walked off?
No, I'll be watching. We'll all be watching except, perhaps, you. You should watch, too, I think.

(14,572 posts)like the emotional five-year-old he actually is.
60 minutes is a venerable show with a big viewership. It's been around so long my parents used to watch it in the 'way back when,' in 1968 when I was just ten years old, and I'm nearly 62 now.
No, walking off 60 minutes because his feet are being held to the fire - that's priceless. You can BET Biden and Harris would, neither of them, do that.
I'll be watching.
Good luck with the dont watch campaign.

Not presidential. Not even human.

(14,742 posts)Our constitution gives the potus real and tangible power. With the senates acquiescence, it is virtually unlimited. Constrained only by those that would execute it.
All he needs is willing agents, and they seem to be in abundance. He can quite literally get away with murder while potus.
It is we who are on a trip - through hell.

(11,986 posts)Trump claims best economy UNTIL the pandemic hit. I think the chart refelects POST pandemic figures, so is not itself a contradiction, even *IF* you equate the nebulous (and nearly meaningless) phrase "greatest economy" with the one with "best job growth."
If you asked Trump how he defined greatest economy, he'd probably say highest stock market, and then he'd be right. Or he'd say the highest number of full-time employed people, and again, he'd be right. That's the problem with arguing about nebulous phrases that can mean whatever someone wants them to mean.
Statistical
(19,264 posts)Prior to the pandemic 5 million jobs were added under Dumpy term. That is pretty solid but nowhere near the best two Presidents in modern history Carter and Clinton.
Highest number of full time people is dubious. The population grows. In 30 years there will be more employed people even if the economy is in the tank. The stock market growth has been good but nowhere near the best years in US history. So no by no possible metric did he create "the great economy".
Personally I think the economy grows or falls largely due to influences outside the WH but even if we pretend it is the result on the President AND we give Dumpy a mulligan on the last year he still didn't preside over the greatest economy.

(11,986 posts)Yes, highest # of full time employed is a dubious stat, because indeed, population keeps getting bigger. But that still doesn't make it a lie for Trump to say that more people were employed in "his" economy than ever before.
Yes, stock market *growth* has been exceeded at other times, but in absolute figures, it reached its highest point under Trump. Again, its a dubious-at-best measure of "greatest economy", but it's not a lie to say stock market was never higher under anyone else.
So arguably, "greatest economy ever" is not a lie, it's spin. It depends on the metrics, and he can pick metrics to support his statement. Even if they're dubious ones.

(15,643 posts)point out facts and tear him a new one with them. The point of counterpoints, whether they are relevant to nebu-lies or not, is to make him look like what he is -- a lying sack of shit for brains and embarrassment to all of us. We should all feel mortified that this worthless nematode is our president -- then maybe everyone would vote against him.
