Thu Oct 22, 2020, 01:36 PM
Oct 2020

Advantages include making non-campaign speeches from the Oval or from behind the POTUS emblem, arriving on Air Force One, always having the attention of the media, public displays of governing and policy.

Disadvantages include having a record and a history to defend.

He's validating their entire worldview when he does this. They've been told for decades that the world is against them and that they're being persecuted all the time in the media, for being male, for being white, for being Christian, for being "conservative", etc. etc. etc. They never get tired of hearing it. So, when Trump complains about how unfair everyone in the media is to him, they really do relate to that.

It was the same in 2008, when Sarah Palin whined incessantly for weeks on end about "gotcha questions" from the media. They absolutely loved that and it made her more popular with them than ever.

Like so many bullies, Trump has skin of gossamer. He thinks nothing of saying the most hurtful thing about someone else, but when he hears a whisper that runs counter to his own vainglorious self-image, he coils like a caged ferret.

Just to drive him a little bit crazy, I took to referring to him as a “short-fingered vulgarian” in the pages of Spy magazine. That was more than a quarter of a century ago. To this day, I receive the occasional envelope from Trump. There is always a photo of him—generally a tear sheet from a magazine. On all of them he has circled his hand in gold Sharpie in a valiant effort to highlight the length of his fingers. I almost feel sorry for the poor fellow because, to me, the fingers still look abnormally stubby. The most recent offering arrived earlier this year, before his decision to go after the Republican presidential nomination. Like the other packages, this one included a circled hand and the words, also written in gold Sharpie: “See, not so short!” I sent the picture back by return mail with a note attached, saying, “Actually, quite short.” Which I can only assume gave him fits.

28. Donald Dumbass shows America why Republicans think there is a bias with reporters.
Thu Oct 22, 2020, 02:45 PM
Oct 2020

Because Donald Dumbass and Republicans think Democratic politicians get 'soft ball' questions whenever a Democratic politician is able to answer questions about policies and hard subjects, because Democratic politicians actually know what they are talking about and actually do the work required of them.

Biden and Democratic politicians do not go into interviews expecting the reporter to shower them with praises and hero worship crap, but they do make answering questions look easy with their knowledge of the question asked.

I'm convinced he knows he's going to lose on November 3. The whole strategy here is to complain about every little thing during campaign season, so he can sit there and say everyone was biased against him and that he didn't get a fair shot at winning. To make his base think it was stolen from him.

Seriously, what we see as a shiny ass bitch, Fox will see as a strong man putting a smart-ass female in her place. Of course, ironically, he allowed Ms Stahl to display her professionalism and ability to operate with aplomb while under fire from the shit-storm Trump was trying to stir up.

He did not get "tough" questions from her. He got honest questions from her, the sorts of questions any president, male or female, would be more than capable of handling. But not our big, fat little-boy Donnie.

If he and his fascist lieutenants are able to steal this election, America is over and done with for ever and all time and I will make damned sure my grandson knows who the villains were who killed it: hundreds of them, from Fatboy Donnie to Fatboy Barr to that traitor from Wisconsin, Ron Johnson, to every goddamned member of the Republican Senate, every Republican Representative, the callous murderess, governor of North Dakota, ditto the Governors of Texas, Arizona, the dirtbag in Florida -- as well as the worthless criminal Medicare-raping Senator who looks like Bat Boy, etc., etc.

And I also want my grandson to know that the worse-than-third-world country he's living in was once legitimately striving to be that crystal city on the hill.
