From our retired Presbyterian minister on Joe Biden (with her permission to share)
"Retirement has its benefits and speaking out is one of them. Today I went to vote for Joe Biden. I know Joe Biden. He is a good and dear and honest man. I have witnessed his grief at the loss of dear mutual friends. I visited him upon the death of his beloved son Beau. I have been part of the crowd at his public events. Each time I have been with him, I have marveled at his willingness and ability to reach out to those in pain and in need of encouragement. His grasp of servant leadership is firm. He has a strong moral compass born from his deep faith. I cannot say these things of his opponent. I have devoted my entire adult life to the study and living out of Gods Word. Now in retirement, I speak for myself alone and represent no particular church or faith group, but I am grateful to have the opportunity of living out my faith in my vote. In Joe Biden I see the Word of God alive. For me, the choice is clear."

I love my friends - friends through church, music, work, the internet, etc. I'm thankful for all for all of them and the fact that many of us see this political situation in a very similar light. I'm thankful for the friends who attended the Women's marches, Science marches, and Pride marches with us, both local and in DC. The quote above is a post from the minister who supported a number of us who wanted to meet because we felt so devastated and shell-shocked with the results of the 2016 election. Even then, we knew what was coming. Joe has been to our church -- not for anything political -- he was there to celebrate with us and to mourn with us.
I'm thankful for my friends, and thankful that more are feeling free to speak out.
