Sign Observations: WV and more NOVA

Yesterday I had to travel to Martinsburg, WV. In town there were lots of local race signs but no trump signs. None! Even the yards with R signs for local politicians and sheriff had no trump signs. In 2016, the whole town was festooned with trump garbage. Yay!

I just ran a delivery to a town in NOVA I haven’t been to recently and was overwhelmed by the number of Biden/Harris signs! Not surprising, considering the area, but still heartening to see.

1. I lived in NOVA back in 2008. And on election night, I heard a group grasp and cheer.

I wasn't into politics back then but I remember the cheer in the whole neighborhood. It wasn't till years later that I realize it was because of Obama's elected as the first black president.

2. I'm noticing the same in western PA

Lots of yards have signs supporting republicans in local races without having a corresponding Trump sign.

3. I was shocked to not see a single trump sign

Of course, I didn’t tour the whole town, but it was very surprising after what I saw there in 2016. Not one! No Biden signs, either, but I think the absence of trump signs speaks a lot louder to the mood of the neighborhoods I drove through.
